This seems like something that should be an implementation detail. Do you expect
the hostname / "device name" in the Details and Sharing panels to show
"c244859c-bae5-4d88-a9ef-e70ba9421610" as a hostname?

A device can have multiple hostnames, though I don't quite understand why
that randomly generated one would need to be the main user-visible one, whether
on the machine itself (as it would show up in bash, in the Details and Sharing panels)
and on machines in the same home network (via mDNS services).

So whether or not we change the default hostname and mDNS visible name to "fedora"
instead of "localhost" or "linux" or not, I really wouldn't want to see random
numbers as a hostname anywhere user-visible.
