I agree that the single tracker is a single point of failure, it pretty much
dooms the idea of a failover system without using custom networking
hardware. I spent some time working on an implementation that allowed
multiple trackers to stay in sync, but with the resistance from Bram the
idea was never going far. The idea was to have a non-standard extension
which offered a tracker list. This would maintain backward compatibility,
and hopefully gain enough momentum for it to become a de-facto standard.
