I have to disagree. DVD installs the desktop or desktops you choose. Is the CD that has a default. In Fedora Desktop is Gnome Shell but there are spins as KDE, LXDE, etc.
I would rather not to use Gnome 3. But is just my opinion and there's always the option to install any other desktop.
