Ah, I guess that would be "dmsetup -v status device"? I admit
I have avoided using the dm at all so far, except for 
RAID and dm-crypt, which are pretty much usable as devices
without looking at any dm stuff underneath. Maybe it is time
to have an in-depth look.

Yes. After all it is an minor output format change and not
quite obvious what it means. Only noticed it myself
because my "cryptstat" script complained about a changed
output format ;-)
