Re: LUKS header lost. Encryption key on USB thumbdrive

That would be the master key that "vanished" with the header, right? That way I am out of luck as it seems. I did not manually make a backup of the LUKS header and I don't have a "dd" of that partition lying around (I do have a backup of the data though). 

- What are my chances of finding header information on the disk with hexdump?
- Is there a documented way of backing up the LUKS header?
