cryptsetup-luks via nfs

Hi,

I wonder if it is secure, if I use cryptsetup-luks in a way like this:

On a remote machine "remote" to which I have a vpn connection I create a
filecontainer. I mount the directory with the filecontainer in it, on my
lokal machine "local" via nfs.

Now all operations with losetup, cryptsetup-luks are done on the "local"
loop device and the mappings. Is the filecontainer data on "remote" now
unencrypted, or is the decryption only done on my machine "local" with
the loop device?

Thanks,
Klaus
