You have removed the smtp service.
smtp inet n - n - - smtpd
And your submission (port 587 service) is incomplete. Please review
your master.cf and correct it.
Your current problem is very likely just that you cannot connect to
port 25 because of the fact that your remove the port 25 service. I
don't see a reason why Postfix actually should complain about a
misconfigured SASL. So make sure you correlate logged errors to the
misconfiguration at a time.
Alexander
Changed that back but still after I do telnet localhost 25 and then ehlo
localhost no respons at all
And I do not see any error messages in auth.log, messages or maillog

Also is it possible something else is running on port 25?
as if smtpd was not running something was answering then not responding
I have socklist to show me what is running on what port but I understand
several distros don't install by default.
type port inode uid pid fd name
tcp 10025 13084 0 891 98 master
tcp 587 13003 0 891 18 master

I do not think so because when I disable the sasl part in the main
config file of postfix I see a respons of the mail server.
