You're not getting any > benefit of the auxprop architecture here. We use both, we have two directories that we query for auth at login. Our issues with ldapdb: ldapdb required sasl for auth to the ldap server (we don't use) and TLS (that we don't bother with on the private network). It was easier, in our configuration, to keep using the old way.
