testing results

Hi all,

I've just been having a play with cryptoapi-2.4.7.0. First of all, it
seems to work great even on the Cyrix 5x86 100mhz that I tested it on! :P

A few minor things which have already been noted like having to manually
load the modules.

Also, using the AES cipher seems to work fine. I can copy files onto an
encrypted loopback file, but when i try to execute perl scripts (as root
with all the x bits set) I get permission denied. If I run perl and pass
the script as an argument it seems to work. Using the RC5 cipher instead
seems to alleviate the problem. (weird)

Some details about my test platform are: 2.4.9 kernel and Debian Sid
distribution (unstable/dev).

And now for a quick q which hopefully isn't a FAQ. Can 2.4.x series
kernels be used to boot off an encrypted root fs? If so, how can this be
achieved or is there any documentation that could help me here?

Thanks in advance for your time,

David Burrows
