General complaint about docker is usually that it by default stops all running containers when the docker daemon gets shutdown. There is the "live-restore" option (which has been around for a while) but that's turned off by default (and requires a daemon restart to enable). It only supports patch updates (no major version upgrades) though that might be sufficient for you.
