Maybe it's an issue of interpretation, but this doesn't actually seem to work:

testfile: (g=0): rw=randwrite, bs=128K-128K/128K-128K/128K-128K,
ioengine=sync, iodepth=64

If you want to adjust the iodepth, you'll need to use an asynchronous ioengine like libaio (you also need to use direct=1)
