The replacement is the 1200 series which are more 2x the price but have a SAS 12gbps interface. You can still find the 600's out there at around $300/drive. Still a very good price based on specs and backed by the reviews. Thanks, that's encouraging. What a shame they're being discontinued. You can certainly still get them in the UK at ~?100 (~$160) a drive. Sounds like it might be worth a shot. Cheers, Simon
