(I use a script, src/script/backport-create-issue, to create the backport tracker issues when the bug status changes to "Pending Backport". Recently the script started creating these duplicate backport isues - I thought I had deleted them all.)
Allow me a brief follow-up. The issue with the script creating duplicate backport issues was fixed some time ago. Today I opened a PR [1] (reviews welcome) to patch the script so it complains about duplicate backport issues.
