[Centos] RPM naming conventions

Hi,

just out of curiosity is there any policy for rpm naming in CENTOS.
When I look at my folder containing all the CENTOS-4 updates released
so far I see files like:
*RHES4*
*rhes4*
*centos*
and even files without any distribution tag in the name. Isn't this a
little bit confusing?
