[Centos] yum repositories

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi.
Do we still have to change the yum repositories addresses with CentOS 4 to
point to another local mirror, or can we leave the default
'mirror.centos.org' repository ?

I ask that because last year there has been a huge bandwidth overload and I
don't know if the 'mirror.centos.org' automatically redirects to a local
mirror (which might be theoretically possible) or not.

In other words, are there some configuration changes requirements or
suggestions from the CentOS team for yum to be fair with the main mirror of
centos.org, or is everything transparent for the user and he just needs to
type 'yum update' ?

Thanks,
Daniel
