The Fish and Wildlife Service this week announced the final 20222023 Station-Specific Hunting and Sport Fishing Regulation, the annual update to regulations at individual National Wildlife Refuges and National Fish Hatcheries.

USGS Announces $4 Million Investment in 15 Cities for Urban Land and Waters

The U.S. Geological Survey this week announced nearly $4 million in investments to improve urban land and waters in 15 cities across the nation. The projects include monitoring to alert homeowners to threats from floods and other water emergencies, assessing contaminants in urban waterways to improve public health, and more.

Valle de Oro NWR Marks 10th Birthday with New Visitor Center Grand Opening

Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge celebrated the grand opening of its new visitor center this week, as the refuge marked its 10th birthday. Valle de Oro's new visitor center will be a place for local families, school groups and community members to deepen their connection with the land.

Located in Guadalupe Mountains National Park, the peak provides fantastic vista from the "top of Texas," with a tremendous view of the surrounding mountains and desert.
