Sounds like it may be a great contribution. Do you intend to create the audio working from a written document? If so, would that be available? I ask because I usually work much better with written things than audio ones, even if it comes to me by Orca's or JAWS's chirping. :-) Al -----Original Message----- From: blinux-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:blinux-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Doug Smith Sent: Sunday, March 03, 2013 12:56 PM To: Linux for blind general discussion Subject: Re: just how much can you do with? I am going to start on an audio archive in the near future. I will cover as much as is possible from installing and configuring the entire system to installing and configuring apps, to using Linux for many of the practical computing tasks the average user will have. My National Federation of the Blind state president wants me to do this so that we can introduce this to the blind population here in the U.S. most of whom have never heard of Linux. As soon as I can find a machine to install on, I hope to start this archive. I want to talk about what gnu/Linux is and how it is different from the alternative. I want to walk you through an install of at least 1 distro or even more, I want to show how the user can complete many of the tasks we have just discussed on here, including mail, web, media, and more, if desired, even programming, although that will be most likely a separate archive since most people avoid coding like the plague. As soon as I get a draft of this together, I will find out how to distribute it and will be getting it out as soon as I either build a web site or set up a mailing list somewhere. I'll be in touch soon, I hope. -- Doug Smith: Special Agent S.W.A.T Spiritual Warfare and Advanced Technology Forever serving our LORD and SAVIOUR, JESUS CHRIST. _______________________________________________ Blinux-list mailing list Blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/blinux-list _______________________________________________ Blinux-list mailing list Blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/blinux-list
