Re: starting gnome

HEllo!
My fedora 7 installed gnome and orca, without installing the x.

I'm a bit comfused, is x a desktop environment of its own, or is x just a server wich gnome and kde runs on?

Gnome and X are two different things.  If you try to install gnome, it
would require you to install X as well.
And you would then want to also install orca or I think its full name is
gnome-orca.
