I can't use Chinese word input software like gcin, etc. Yes, these are issues, but as I said in a earlier thread there's no easy solution for now, we'd probably better just release 3.8 and then work on unicode support, which will permit to read chinese & such from gnome-terminal at least (and that would be required for accessing fbdev anyway).
