Agreed, that's what Ultrasonix does IIRC, but I do tell you that
applications don't use XDrawText anymore. They draw text themselves
(with the help of freetype & such libraries) and just send the _pixmap_
to the X server.  Don't expect people to ever use XDrawText again.
