formant synthesis for linux?

hi,
now that viavoice is no longer available,
does anyone know of a nice gpl or similar licensed formant synthesis engine
anywhere on the net?
As i currelntly believe, rsynth is not free, though you can have it in
source, and dectalk software support costs $50 per download.
So what about tuxtalk? Is it usable with gnopernicus or emacspeak, and
somehow loadable as module or server?
Nice if anyone could provide some information, since the diphone and
concatenation based synths are quiet annoying when reading long texts due
their unmelodious voice, and their responsiveness is not so good as in the
formant based synths.
Thanks and Regards, Attila.
