Thanks all. It is a pc speaker item in misc in input, but it was like looking for aneedle in a haystack in "make config". I had trouble finding it in make menuconfig because i've always had trouble figuring out when you can hit enter on a selection and when you have to select it first. One good thing about having this problem is that I think I have it figured out now.
