I've been working on this just this afternoon. The basic problem is that
glibc-2.3 is not sufficiently backward compatible with glibc-2.2.  
Unfortunately, RedHat doesn't provide a compat package for glibc-2.2.

At the moment, I'm able to compile/link an application which uses ViaVoice such
that it runs fine on RH9. What I'd like to know is if that's sufficient for
others, or do people need to be able to run existing executables which can't be
recompiled/relinked.
