When I upgraded my desktop machine to RH 9, it stopped working though. I have heard that there is a problem with compatability with newer libs. So it might not work at all if you have a newer version of linux on your machine.
I found that the instructions on the Red Hat site were the best and most complete for getting ViaVoice to work. I don't have the URL but you can do a search on their site.

hello! I have found a download site for the ibm via voice package. now I have some questions. 1. what files do i need to use it? 2. how shall I install this stuff? Is it harder or easier than my long night time kernel compilations? 3. how good does it sound? is it better than rsynth?
thanks in advance
