Hi, Krishnakant here. I am using windows and linux on a single computer and as you rightly pointed out it is better to have both. actually linux is more like a server then any thing else. Yes, it is true that linux is the operating system in this world. But it is best in places where you need security stability and other issues. As far as security and stability goes windows can't even think of it in the dreams. Windows is like a open public place for all the dirt and diseases. on the other hand linux is highly secured and unlike windows doesn't catch those viruses on the basis of which anti virus companies earn. Linux provides for a lot of development and so if you are a programmer it is a heaven. Then linux has got a lot of software support and you get a lot of tools and softwares only thing is that you must know where to search. And most importantly linux, the screen readers and all the tools are free. on the other hand windows is ment for home users and although microsoft claims it to be a good OS for the server, I openly claim that Microsoft talks bull shit as far as security is concerned. windows is like a good for nothing system at the server side. having said that, it should be understood that windows is like a kids system so any home user can use it. it is easy to install any software on windows (it should not have been so ). and the best part if at all of windows is the microsoft word. I believe no other word processer can match with that. this is specially true when one wants to create really complex documents and reports. there are some features in word which haven't been seen in KDE word or open office or what ever on linux. And yes, internet explorer is really good. I am not saying that the net browsing capability of linux is bad. In fact emacspeak does a great job and some times I even find it better then internet explorer. We can conclude that although linux over powers windows in advantages the balance is not totally 100 is to 0. windows has some specific advantages as well. And they clearly show up in a non-business and home environment. thanks
