I tried to build libcdaudio from the tar ball on slackware 9_0 and that package won't completely make. I think the version of gcc that's on this system 3.22 is starting to cause more problems than it's worth. I wouldn't be writing that except neither festival nor eflite would build with it either so I don't have emacspeak working on the sound card. I can swap out gcc 2.95.1 and at least get the emacspeak stuff going by uninstalling the whole d series of packages and replacing them with their predecessors.
