Linux by console?

Yes, you can run the BNS as a "dumb terminal". To do this, open an
empty file and turn the serial port on, with whatever parameters your
Linux machine is set up to accept. Then, wirk. You have the BNS's
cursoring at your disposal. The traffic between the machine and Linux
box will simply get appended to the BNS file. Note, you won't have
any screen model, so, programs like Pine don't work well in this
arrangement. If you wish a fully functional VT100 on the BNS, you
have to run something like brlterm on the notetaker. Doing this, you
have full terminal mode and some 'scrol back'. I forget how many
lines; it's been a while since I've done this. Anyway, it's a quick
and dirty way to get a talking Linux.
