Waste of time (was: LINUX AND ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE)

Linux is known to be pretty safe when it comes to
virii. But if a Linux user has too much free time to waste it might be
fun to install a virus scanner under Linux and let it run. Just to get
the feeling what millions of other poor people have to do every day.
But It will be a search in vain.

So if your time is a limited good, don't waste it. You may do something
productive instead like learning about tweaking your operating system.

Some hints for the Linux newbie:
+ for normal usage log in as user, not as root.
+ never execute unknown binaries someone sent you.
+ make backups of /etc and your home directory.
+ forget about virus scanners under Linux.

Enjoy!
