Using IRC

Imho, using irc is a bugger to use with braille. I use speech. I can at
least shut it up and quickly review the screen if need be.
I use to be a techadmin on a network so I got farely good at it.
Especially when it came to capturing ip addresses for instand g-lines
and such. It just takes time to sit there and practice and learn what
crap you want to hear and what you can safely ignore.
And if in doubt, do what I do from time to time and drop in the
occasional rofl or lol just to let people know you're alive.

As an additional option for you ...

I've been using sirc, a Perl based client without problems for several
months.

It's all very straight forward. Commands are preceeded by a slash.
Everything else you type is broadcast when you press enter.
