The Screen utility already has a copy-and-paste mechanism. Assuming the default key bindings, do "ctrl-a [" to enter Screen's review mode. Use the vi-like keystrokes to move to the place from which to begin the copy, then hit "space". Next, move to the place where the copy should end, and hit "space" again to save the region into the buffer. Now, move to the virtual window into which you want to paste. "ctrl-a ]", pastes the buffer content into the new window, at the cursor position. -Dave John J.
