Installing Debian

that's simply answered: during isntallation you simply can tell debian to
install on your second drive (/dev/hdb)
Be sure to note that:
c: = /dev/hda
d: = /dev/hdb
this is only if both drives are in this order on your firstr ide-controler

Note also that: booting linux from the 2nd drive will still need to
overwrite the mbr (master boot record) of the first drive to be seen by
the bios.
After that, you need to reconfigrue lilo to make windows bootable from the
lilo prompt or:
a. use a boto disk for linux all the time
b. use loadlin.exe from dos (not a dos-box under windows or restart in
ms-mode).
