Hi, Gil: I'm actually wondering about grub, myself. I looked at it briefly two years ago when I got a system preconfigured with grub. I didn't see a way to give me audible cueues that would let me know when and how I could select among several booting options, so I trashed it in favor of lilo. I am a fan of two features lilo supports for me: 1.) I have two Ctrl-G chars in my /boot/message file, which lilo uses. This gives me two side by side beeps that let me know I'm at the lilo "Boot>" prompt; 2.) I have the line: serial=0,9600N8 in my /etc/lilo.conf to actually speak the Boot> prompt whenever I have a serial synth attached. Does grub support anything like these two options that would allow a blind person to know when action to select a configuration is appropriate? -- Janina Sajka, Director Technology Research and Development Governmental Relations Group American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) Email: janina@afb.net Phone: (202) 408-8175 Chair, Accessibility SIG Open Electronic Book Forum (OEBF) http://www.openebook.org
