If you're not partial to a distribution, and slackware will work for you,
you can get zipslack, which is a 34 meg zipfile with a nice umsdos system.
You just unzip it and it makes a linux dir, and then you type linux at a
DOS prompt, or from DOS mode in 95, not a DOS box!, and it'll run.  I'm
testing stuff on it now in fact.
