dosemu?

I think you would be lucky to get decent sound support via dosemu on 
anything but the most vanilla cards--though I don't recall the details.

As for all that c code, why not just port it to linux?

Which distro doesn't matter. They all support the same sound cards because 
support is typically achieved via oss or alsa. To learn more about these
