Hi. Slackware is very easy to install and setup. I found it much easier than redhat, but that is just me. I have slackware 8.0 installed and slackware 7.0. I can't answer your questions about speakup, I haven't used it for about 6 months. I use a dos machine attached as a serial console to my linux systems. phil
