The enigma cd's and the speakup boot disk for kernel 2.2.16-22 do not play well together. red hat didn't put proper electronic labels on all of their disks so I can't even upgrade an existing non-verbal system. What's worse, when the red hat cd isn't found in the cdrom drive (probably put the wrong cd in in the first place) the only way to eject the cd is to power down and start the computer up again! place a talking boot disk in drive a: and windows cd in cd drive. Have your windows product key to hand and ready. type the following as shown: d: <cr> assuming cdrom drive is d: and you're already booted up and talking on drive a: setup <cr> runs setup program on windows cd wait for cd to stop and wait a few minutes longer. <cr> to continue <cr> to select drive c: for windows installation <cr> to select typical setup type <down> <cr> show component list o <space> selects and unchecks online servicesalt-n moves to next prompt <cr> accept computer type <cr> select united states as country <cr> <right> <cr> after removing boot disk skips creation of new boot disk <cr> start copying files computer shows closing windows rebooting in win98 and reboots wait. type: first_name last_name <cr> <tab> <cr> to accept license agreement product key gets typed here do not type dashes they're already there and computer fills in fields for you as you type then <cr> <cr> to finish setup computer reboots <tab> 7 times <down> 7 times <tab> 2 times <right> <cr> to set up time zone <tab> 9 times <cr> computer runs for awhile then reboots wait. enter password <cr> or just <cr> for no password <tab> 5 times <cr> to end up on task bar.
