The old 5.x didn't have talking boot disks, did it? With what screen reader, speakup never worked with the 2.0 series kernel, which I thought I'd be in hot water if I even could've worked for this isp that's out of business now anyway, they used rh 5.2 even though 6.2 and 7.0 are the latest at the time.
