A small follow-up on this matter, I've been chasing it, though intermittently,
and so far I'm speculating that the display driver (vc4) has some either
some problems, or this is actually a feature, flipping the buffer way
sooner than it should.

You might be able to tweak it, and get rid of the tear line by using a 
configuration variable named repaint-window, in the core section of the
ini file, which normally is set at 7 (ms). Start with a higher value like 10
and go up from there, testing it each time to see if there's a value that could
make that tear line ago away. A in-depth explanation of what this
repaint-window is, its meaning, can be found at [1].

For the time being I've opened [2] to further track this down. Not
really sure what that means, and if I actually can do something about
it, but I'll keep it in backlog for now. I'd appreciate it if you could
get back (either here or over the Jira ticket) if this actually works on
your side.
