Hi All,
Please find below a brief summary of the progress Collabora have made last week on Weston/Wayland and Pipewire.
Weston/Wayland
Marius:
- Continued follow-up work from SPEC-3799 (Left icon bar overlapping launcher area), with testing out on real device some of the changes to address SPEC-3980 (Data contention when starting multiple apps) together with SPEC-3969 (Implement some simple queue for dispatching start-events to avoid colliding with client shell). Discovered that while these work out correct in a virtualized environment they seem to be insufficient when using a real device. Still looking into it, to determine the root cause. While doing that I've started noticing some other races, described better in SPEC-3995 (Switching between applications make some of them freeze). They seem to only happen on a real device.
PipeWire / WirePlumber
George:
- Investigated SPEC-3822 (basically playback through ALSA not working properly)
- Setup coverity static analysis for WirePlumber and fixed a few issues:
- Integrated the build of WirePlumber into the PipeWire source tree, as a meson subproject; trying to use this as a starting step to implement integration tests where a real lua policy script is being tested under simulated conditions
Kind regards,
Nick
