Re: Problems with XDS-Server and Syncthing

Hello,

sorry for this late response.

Here are answers to your questions :

why the xds-server docker image is missing an exposed port for the syncthing server.
Is it possible to use the xds-server docker container with cloud synchronization?

The docker image has been designed to ease xds-server setup when you want to use xds on your laptop / host.
In such configuration, it makes no sense to use cloud synchronization (IOW you use local path mapping method)
If you really want to use cloud synchronization, it's technically possible even if it's not done yet. You're right, syncthing port (default is 8385) need to be exposed.
Please create a JIRA ticket ([1]) and assign it to me.

ERROR[0XXX] “*******checksum” check digit incorrect

This error simply means that the synchronization is not working.

Cannot load synchting config: no valid device found

Would you please send me your xds-server config file (server-config.json file [2]) and the content of $HOME/.xds directory (format zip or tar) ?

Best regards,
Sebastien.

Dear automotive people,

I’m having problems with the setup of the XDS-Server. First thing I’m not sure why the xds-server docker image is missing an exposed port for the syncthing server. Is it possible to use the xds-server docker container with cloud synchronization? When I try to create a project with cloud sync, I get the following error in the xds-agent log: ERROR[0XXX] “*******checksum” check digit incorrect

I also tried to use the cloud sync with a native installation, but I cant figure out how to configure syncthing to work properly with the xds-server. While starting the xds-server the following error is thrown: Cannot load synchting config: no valid device found

Sadly I’m unable to find any documentation or configuration instruction for the problems or the meaning of the different error messages.

With best regards,
Lorenz Krause
