Indeed, audio play(output) works ak4613 and pcm3168a cards,
- ak4613 ) using 4a and 4a-hal settings.
- pcm3168a) using gstreamer.
->e.g.) gst-launch-1.0 -v uridecodebin uri="file:///usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Right.wav" ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! alsasink
device=hw:pcm3168a
or
4a-play /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Right.wav hw:pcm3168a
Then, it is not related settings of pulse. (My hack is depend on pulseaudio..)
This error is not only KF onboard audio capture, but also ak4613 SK onboard side.
I guess that this capture issue related “4a doesn’t handle audio capture”.
In hal-4a.json file in /usr/libexec/agl/4a-ha/etc, capture settings are described.
Is this issue happened only R-Car PF? Do you know if other platform (not USB-audio) works fine using their on-board?

Yes , now I remember that we already had a discussion about this.
The bug is not related to 4a (that does not handle audio capture yet today),
but to the fact that the Congent's BSP introduces an artefact (forcing
the audio rate and format in the device configuration), that pure alsa tools,
or alsa applications in general, won't do.
If Cogent does that, that is very likely for working around to a bad driver implementation
for the ak4613 device. At least, a detailed comment about this hack is missing.
Alsa applications (typically, "arecord", or the alsa backend of gstreamer) -should- be able to
use the ak4613 capture, without any other extra parameter or init, or, even worse,
without relying on pulseaudio.

Hi all,
I am currently using a Renesas H3 with Kingfisher to run the latest release of AGL. I am trying to use a microphone through the 3.5 mm jack but it appears to be muted somehow. Is there some config file somewhere
that I can edit to unmute it?
