I'm not sure what "ataraid" is. Are you using the dmraid utility? It
creates devices in /dev/mapper for me. Also what kind of raid array is
this? If it is a mirror then you should be able to replace the failing
drive and go into the bios raid setup program and rebuild it with the
new drive.
