well if promise does not support it you will probably have to stick to the ataraid-opensource driver... you wil have to change some settigns(fstab,...) because the ataraid+pdcraid driver from the kernel does not emulate scsi but creates devices in /dev/ataraid/dxpy .... I myself use debian with the kernel ataraid driver with a FT100 Lite ... you wil have to check the lilo with the redhat distribution hjas any problems with the ataraid devices... if so or if the ataraid.o and pdcraid.o as modules you will have to use initrd.... but be carefull: there are problems with settings like just one disc in the array and also with raid1 there was an issue ...check http://www.murty.net/ataraid/ there is a HOWTO wich explains the handling and also changing from the Promise to the ataraid driver... I hope I could help... mfg Albert Dengg -- Albert Dengg <a_d@xxxxxx>
