As for NTFS, I read from my win2k partitions just fine under linux. I only mount them read-only though.

from http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/

NTFS Windows Version
v1.2 NT 3.51, NT 4
v3.0 2000
v3.1 XP

Version 1.2 is sometimes known as 4.0.
Versions 3.0 and 3.1 are sometimes referred to as 5.0 and 5.1.

OK, so I'm out of luck =(. This may be a bit offtopic, but what hinders

the

development of ntfs v5 support under linux, lack of information? Is there
something I can do to help evolve the ntfs driver? I have some programming
experience in c++ and some other langs, but haven't done any development
under linux (yet).

And now for an on-topic question: How come I can see the individual drives
on the raid, but not the raid itself (/dev/ataraid/dXpY)? I have the
pdc-features statically compiled in a 2.4.19 kernel. Even though ntfs

isn't

supported, I should still be able to see the partition table on the raid,
right? I can see the partition table on hde.

Richard,

NTFS under win2k is NTFS version 5.0
linux supports NTFS up through version 3.0.

I have 2 WD 80GB disks in a raid 0+2 raid (stripe) configuration on a
Promise Fasttrak100 controller. I recently migrated to slackware 8.1

from

win2000 and tried to get the raid working ever since. Today I finally
managed to see the individual drives - hde and hdf - on the raid, using
the 2.4.19 kernel, with "special fasttrack feature" disabled (thanks
Martin). However, how do I make the old windows ntfs partitions show up

on

/dev/ataraid/d0 ? The last thing I want to do is to burn about 150GB to
cd-r (would be around 200 cd's) just to copy it all back again, besides,

I

still want to be able to access the raid from within windows till I got
everything else woorking with my linux installation. I apreciate any

help

and information.

Regards / Richard
