I succeded to set up the system on theese to new disks, but now I want to try the other ones again. I get the same error as below, and it makes no difference if I swap the drives. I noticed that before I swapped the drive, I had one disc reporting 15516/xx/xx and the other one 9426/256/16. After the swap both drives reported the first number and I'm pretty shure that the 9426/256/16 are the correct numbers. Can anyone explain this? How do I make the installation initialize the drives as it does with real clean disks? Actually I want to "un-initialize" the two single disks on the Promise controller, as it seems that most of my problem comes from letting the setup initialize both the single drives and the mirror at first installation attempt :-( I have tried for fdisk /mbr the disks, but that's not the trick. > Now I have put in two new discs, and this I i only answer yes to have it > initialize the promise drive. Now it's installing, but I have theese > kernel messages: > > > FastTrak| 1|4119|Error|ECC Error:Disk IC35L060AVVA07-0 (Channel > > 1/Master) at LBA 0x71d76ea > > FastTrak : RESET Channel1 - DEV1(OK) > > FastTrak : Drive Interrupt Time Out.(1) > > FastTrak : RESET Channel1 - DEV1(OK) > > I dont know if it will wanish when I switch to native linux raid. > > - Jens W.
