I gave up on this. It just wouldn't work no matter what kernel I tried. I stole a HPT370 controller from another computer and put that in here. I'm using it as a normal IDE controller (no raid arrays) with linux software raid. That way, things are much more easier to manage (I hope). Thanks for the help. -Conrad
