Thanks for the reply, the hard drives are different, the distro is
different (gentoo and mandriva), I've tried apache 2.0, and 2.2.2,
MaxClients is set to 512, most it sees is 200 or so. mod_whatkilledus
doesn't do anything, that's whats weird, no output at all, same for core
dumps. By mod_systemstatus are you referring to mod_status? I have it
running, it's nice to look at but doesn't help at all heh.

first, digitally imported is a wonderful webcast!

second:
try this sequence:
is the Harddrive the same? if so, try another drive.
is the Distro the same? if so , and the HD dosent fix it, try with a
new distro only.
what does WhatKilledUs do? what about mod_systemstats (its with my
apache (debian 2006.3.5), and i've found that can help... also, try a
different version of apache. I run apache 2.1(something), and Have run
2.0.5x - it usually fails if CurrentClients > 150% of MaxClients. set
the httpd.conf to have a maxClients set. that fixed it for me.

have you tried a COMLETELY different machine, with, say Damnsmall
linux, apache from the debian sources and see what happens. it may be
the mobo.
I have mod_systemstats. it gives an aoutput like this:
(time) system problem: || system accessed by: and some descrption.
i've never had a segmentation fault on any of my machines...
