Regarding your problem:

- if you don't care about the port number, run apache somewhere else: Put "Listen 8000" in your config, restart and then surf to http://localhost:8000/ (you'll need to keep the port in the URL).

- If you want to run on port 80, post your precise error message from the apache error log. You only say "it won't run because of Port 80 conflicts", which is not definative. Could be FW, could be something else using port 80...
