Software Load Balancers | mod_proxy_balancer and Varnish
[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
Hi,
Apologies in advance for a fairly high level question which may not be the norm of this users group.
I am trying to understand options and eventually choose a software load balancer for a project I am working on. I am specifically interested in the capabilities of two options - Apache HTTPD mod_proxy_balancer and Varnish (
https://www.varnish-cache.org/trac/wiki/LoadBalancing) from the following perspectives:
1. Feature set supported like - session stickyness, failover from one node to another in the load balancer farm etc
2. Performance/throughput
3. Stability of the solution
4. Ease of use or time required to setup for typical http(s) load balancing use cases
I did try googling for information for a couple of hours but was not successful in finding a good comparison. So I am looking at your experience to get some pointers.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Kind Regards
Anurag
