Regarding this whole DL/NW "integration," how do gate fees work? I'm talking about the fees paid by DL/NW to the airport for a gate, or a few gates. For instance, the new airline says it may give up the "Delta" gates at Indianapolis, and consolidate their operations at the "Northwest" gates. Do airlines pay more for gates that are closer to security? Does the size of the gate (i.e. both the waiting area and "oh this gate can only take up to a CRJ" vs. "oh this gate can take an A330/B777") matter? I can't reason that "all gates are equal" but I can't figure out what the differentiating factors are. Then again, I'm just a lowly passenger. :-) - Blaine <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> If you wish to unsubscribe from the AIRLINE List, please send an E-mail to: "listserv@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx".
